Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer Review

The Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer is so lightweight, comfortable and breathable that you’ll never want to go back to a synthetic-based under layer again. The garment is designed to wick moisture away, keeping you warm and dry in cold conditions.

Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer

Superfine merino wool is the secret to the advanced performance of the Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer. This soft, comfortable, eco-friendly fiber retains body heat but does not hold moisture or odor, making it suitable for a wide range of activities year-round including cycling and mountain biking. The Raglan sleeves and flat-sewn seams in the side gusset allow you to move without constricting or chafing.

It features lightweight construction, a seamless underarm design. Flatlock stitching to prevent chafing, and underarm gussets for freedom to move, this classically-styled long-sleeve tee provides comfort during the most strenuous activities. And because it’s made from Merino wool, this long-sleeved tee can be easily cleaned in a washing machine.

The Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer almost looks after itself as it does not hold moisture or odor. While I don’t recommend this the manufacturer states that the known record for wearing an Icebreaker non-stop is 196 days in extreme conditions.

Icebreaker Women’s Bodyfit 200 Active Base Layer Reviews

There were only positive reviews for the Icebreaker Women’s BodyFit 200 Active Base Layer. One person stated that this shirt is the perfect under-layer for the freaking cold winter. She also mentioned she has learned that synthetics don’t work very well for her as they don’t help regulate temperature and they are just too stinky after a couple of hours.

Most reviewers mentioned it is a bit itchy at first but that quickly goes away after a few washes. Many comments about how the fine gauge of the soft wool feels so comfortable. Also that it keeps you warm while wicking away any moisture.

Take care when ordering as many women find it a bit tight so need to order one size up. Another reviewer said that this is not a cute “wear to work” type of shirt, it really is like long underwear.

There are lots of wool converts, as an alternative to synthetic fabrics I recommend the Icebreaker Women’s BodyFit 200 Active Base Layer.
